FBC has a simple mission. We have been called by Jesus Christ to reach out to the world around us, introduce them to the knowledge and saving power of the Savior, to build them up in their faith and witness and take what we know into the world. We have been called to "Bring Them In, Build Them Up and Send Them Out!"
Jesus Christ began his ministry by recruiting people who knew one another. Simon Peter and Andrew were brothers, James and John were also brothers and all four of these men were fishermen. Jesus started his ministry with those who knew one another. The strategy of bringing people into the Kingdom of God begins by sharing our faith with those who are our friends and family. In the New Testament book of Acts, Jesus told his disciples that they were to start first in Jerusalem; their home town. Growing FBC starts by first connecting with our Jerusalem - Manning, South Carolina.
Encouraging and teaching others about the Kingdom of God is a purpose that connects everything together at FBC. Building relationships with those who enter our fellowship is central to all we do. After recruiting his disciples Jesus built them up and told them, "No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you." - John 15:14-16 Building each other up calls for us to become brothers and sisters in the Faith!
FBC of Manning is a missional congregation! We take seriously the command that Jesus gave his disciples. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20) We understand that we are to start in our Jerusalem (Manning, SC) but the overall mission is to introduce Jesus Christ to the world!
